Globestock’s® G.Guard series of load arrestors is a reliable system for automatically stopping the fall of an overhead load, protecting the load whilst at the same time reducing the chance of injury to anyone nearby. If the load enters into free-fall, the cable is pulled out at an accelerating rate; when the activation speed is reached, the braking system engages, bringing the load to a smooth and cushioned stop.

G.Guard load arrestors are retractable, tensioned cable safety devices for the protection of equipment, machinery, high value and sensitive loads. They protect both static and dynamic/ moving loads at height and help minimise associated hazards to the area below. Load arrestors provide protection should the primary anchorage, support, or the lifting/lowering system fail, thereby offering direct protection to equipment and additional safety to personnel who may be operating below.
A spring tensioned safety cable attached to the protected load remains tight and senses when a fall occurs. In such an event, the cable retracts from the unit at an accelerating rate, which then activates the braking system. The fall arrest brake safely brings the load to a halt, as quickly and smoothly as possible, absorbing the energy of the fall and keeping the fall distance, as well as shock force, to a minimum.

- Stopping distance: 1.0m maximum
- For the G.Guard’s fall arrest brake to operate correctly, the protected load must be in unhindered accelerating free-fall.
